Play chess for money, against real people at your level
On Ariplex you can play rated chess for a stake against another real person, in your browser, with no download. Both players put in the same stake, the server runs the game and the clock, and the winner takes the pot minus the platform fee. A draw refunds both stakes.
- Stakes
- $1 – $1,000 per player
- Fee
- 12% of the pot
- Practice
- Free, no account
- Age
- 18+
In Nairobi, each player puts in $1. The winner takes $1.76 from a pot of $2. A draw refunds both stakes.
How it works, step by step
- Practise free. Play the twelve practice opponents, from Beginner to Legendary, with hints and takebacks. No account and no money needed.
- Create an account and add funds. Sign up, then deposit to your wallet. The stake is held only for the length of a match.
- Pick a clock and a city. Choose 3+2, 5+0 or 10+0, then a city: each city is one stake level, and you only meet players in the same city and time control.
- Play the game. You are paired by rating. Moves and clocks run on the server; if your connection drops you have time to come back.
- Get paid. When the game ends the pot is settled to the winner's wallet at once, minus the fee. A draw returns both stakes in full.
What makes it skill, not luck
Chess has no dice, no cards and no hidden information: the better move wins. That is why it is the anchor game on Ariplex, and why ratings move only in real games against real people.
Every finished staked game has a public record: the full move list and the result, which anyone can replay move by move.
How a match is kept fair
Every move or shot goes to Ariplex's server, which applies the published rules, runs the clock and decides the result. A phone or computer never reports who won, so a modified app cannot win a match.
Staked matches are between two real people. Computer opponents exist only in free practice, and they are labelled as practice players.
Players are paired by a hidden skill rating inside a city, so a new player meets other new players rather than the strongest on the site.
The shop sells cosmetics only. Nothing that can be bought changes how a game plays.
18+, limits and where it is not allowed
Ariplex is for adults aged 18 and over. Deposit limits, loss limits, time outs and self-exclusion are in every account, and the responsible play page lists where to get help.
Playing skill games for money is restricted or not allowed in some countries and states. Check the law where you are before you stake; free practice needs no account and no money.
Questions and answers
Can I really play chess for money online?
Yes, on Ariplex two real players each stake the same amount and the winner takes the pot minus the platform fee. Whether it is allowed where you live depends on local law, so check that first.
Do I play against a bot?
Not in a staked game. Staked games are always between two people. Computer opponents are only in free practice.
What happens if my internet drops?
The game keeps running on the server and you can reconnect. If you do not come back in time you lose on time, the same as letting your clock run out.
What happens in a draw?
Both stakes are refunded in full and no fee is taken.
Which time controls can I play?
Staked chess is offered at 3+2 and 5+0 blitz and 10+0 rapid. Practice adds 15+10 and untimed games.
