How to play Wall Race

Race your pawn to the far side while placing walls to slow your opponent down.

A 9×9 board. Each pawn starts in the middle of its own edge; 10 walls each with two players, 5 each with four.

  1. Either move your pawn one square (not diagonally) or place a wall covering two squares of edge.
  2. You may jump an adjacent pawn; if a wall blocks the jump, step diagonally around it.

Rules summary

  • A wall may never completely seal off anyone's path to their goal — the server checks every placement.
  • Reach any square on the opposite edge first.

Fair play and verification

Low cheating risk

The game runs on the server, not on your device: your device sends moves and the server applies the published rules, keeps the clock and records every move, so either player can have a disputed game reviewed move by move.

  • Pairing checks guard against collusion in four-player games.
  • Every game runs on a server clock: running out of time loses.
  • A disconnected player has 60 seconds to return before forfeiting.
